100 participants in the ‘100 Days of Carbon Clean Up’ Campaign will receive free Display Energy Certificates, ahead of the requirement for public sector occupiers of larger buildings to display the certificates by 6 April 2008. The campaign is run by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and sponsored by E.ON, the UK’s largest integrated energy company.

The first 100 participants in the campaign who return their CIBSE TM22 Energy Assessment form at the end of the 100 days will receive a free Display Energy Certificate (DEC). This will be produced by a member of CIBSE’s register of Low Carbon Consultants.

From 6 April 2008 many public buildings will need to display a DEC in a prominent place clearly visible to the public, showing the energy performance of the building based on actual energy consumption.

The 100 Days Campaign aims to help participants realise the carbon saving potential of their workplace, encouraging staff behavioural changes and managerial initiatives to reduce carbon emissions from their buildings.

The 100 days run from 12 September to 20 December. Information on signing up to the 100 Days of Carbon Clean up Campaign is available at www.100days.co.uk or by ringing 020 8675 5211.
