Sponsorship powers up campaign

CIBSE’s 100 days of Carbon Clean Up Campaign 2007 is set to generate even more energy and enthusiasm than last year with the UK’s largest integrated energy company, E.ON, signing up as sponsor of the initiative.

E.ON’s involvement also brings on board round the world yachtswoman Dame Ellen MacArthur who will be the campaign champion. Ellen is already working with E.ON to help raise awareness of how their business customers and the wider community can become more energy efficient, through making simple changes – a message emphasised in the 100 Days Campaign.

Run by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), the 100 Days Campaign aims to help participants realise the carbon saving potential of their workplace, encouraging staff behavioural changes and managerial initiatives to reduce carbon emissions from their buildings. With the support of E.ON, and Ellen MacArthur, CIBSE hopes this campaign will build on the success of the 2006 initiative and lead to bigger and better carbon savings.

CIBSE President John Armstrong said: “It is excellent news that E.ON is sponsoring the 100 days campaign. CIBSE and E.ON share common values of promoting and encouraging sustainability and helping organisations to work towards an energy efficient future.”
