AMEC has been awarded a £36 million contract by Hochtief PPP Solutions (UK) Ltd to design and deliver two new secondary schools, Harrop Fold High School and Buile Hill High School, in the City of Salford.
Work begins immediately on both schools, which have a combined area of 18,000m² and will be completed in time for the start of the school year in September 2008.
The facilities will not only meet the needs of the schools' performing and visual arts specialisms but will also include outdoor synthetic sports pitches and multi-use games areas.
"This new contract provides further evidence of our expertise and continued commitment to the growing education market," said John Moss, Managing Director of AMEC's Design and Project Services business. "By working closely with Hochtief PPP Solutions and Salford City Council, our integrated design and delivery teams will deliver innovative and inspirational learning environments for the City of Salford."
