Trox AITCS scooped its fifth prestigious award for innovation in just six months, when it won the IET’s Built Environment Award at the annual Innovation in Engineering Awards.
Trox AITCS, in a joint application with building services consultant hurleypalmerflatt, won the Built Environment Award for its pioneering carbon dioxide blade server cooling system. This ground breaking green technology has captured the market’s imagination by harnessing liquid CO2 to cool data centres. Its cooling medium absorbs over seven times the capacity of chilled water and, in doing so, provides significant energy and running cost savings, which translates into huge reductions of carbon emissions.
The judges felt that this innovation could be a solution to the IT nightmare of managing heat for continued operation of IT equipment in data centres, and could have a huge impact on the future design and layout of data and communications centres.
