Clare joins White Young Green
Published:  26 October, 2006

Clare Shuttleworth, an Associate sustainability specialist in the sustainability team of White Young Green (WYG), has been appointed to the key Group wide role of Sustainability Bureau Manager.

The Sustainability Bureau, a strategic initiative for WYG, was launched earlier this year and is a unique initiative that effectively pools WYG’s extensive expertise under a single umbrella providing advice against the triple bottom line through integrated social, economic and environmental services.

Clare will expand on her current regional role to become a national figure head, managing the development and delivery of a totally integrated sustainability support package across all WYG service areas.

With sustainability a key Government priority, the new role will present Clare with a varied and exciting work load. Commenting on her responsibilities, she said: “As a company we have an enviable track record in sustainable development from renewable energy and energy conservation, through to social and economic development, social protection, Corporate Social Responsibility reporting, sustainability appraisal and strategy, life cycle analysis and whole life costing. Apart from working with clients and partners to develop more innovative ways of delivering more sustainable projects, my primary task will be to represent and further develop White Young Green’s extensive capability.”

Doug Ford, Managing Director of WYG’s environmental business is fully behind Clare’s new role, reflecting Group Board and Plc’s firm ambitions in this field. He says: “Clare has worked with WYG for two years and during that time has made a substantial contribution to the growth and success of the broad sustainability skill area. She brings an enormous amount of expertise to the post, and importantly, she is passionate about the need for us all to think more considerately about our actions and their effect on the planet, both now and in the future, through the provision of practical and pragmatic advice.”
