Wieland add to gesis range
Published:  28 September, 2006

For fast, economical installation with extra protection, Wieland Electric Limited has added 2, 4 and 5 pole versions to the popular gesis IP+ 3 pole range of connectors. Designed for the safe installation of lighting and other building services components, especially where a high degree of protection is required in harsh environments, the new, state of the art connectors offer time savings of up to 80%.

These 20 amp connectors can be used with solid, stranded and finely stranded cables and have a screw connection of 0.5-4.00mm², a spring clamp connection of 0.5-1.5mm² and crimp connection of 0.5-4.0mm². Designed for use in a temperature range from -40ºC to +100ºC, the connectors are oil and UV resistant, halogen free and incorporate a locking device.

Using a mechanical coding arrangement so that male and female connectors can only be mated in one way with no mismatches, the range ensures that all contacts are connected simultaneously, with the earth contact in advance. Furthermore, all conducting parts are protected against accidental touching, whether connected or disconnected, removing any risk of electric shock.
