DVD promotes workplace learning
Published:  25 August, 2006

SummitSkills, the Sector Skills Council for building services engineering, has produced a free interactive DVD to support Scottish companies in developing their businesses through skills.

In addition to generic material that is applicable to all businesses in the country, the main section of the DVD is specifically relevant to companies in the building services engineering sector. It includes film clips and case studies from employers in the industry, information on how trade associations and training providers can help and links to useful partners.

Keith Marshall, Chief Executive of SummitSkills, commented: “There are a great number of firms that are already benefiting from enhancing their businesses through staff development. This DVD profiles just some of these companies, so others can discover how investment in skills can benefit them.”

SummitSkills will distribute the DVD, which includes an introduction by Shirley Robertson, double Olympic gold medal yachtswoman, to businesses across Scotland over the forthcoming months. The disk was produced with the help of employers, trade associations and training providers throughout Scotland and was funded by the Scottish Executive and the European Social Fund.

For further information and to obtain a copy of the DVD, contact SummitSkills on 01908 303960.
