Lochinvar has supplied high efficiency boilers to the new Carriage Works Theatre in Leeds.
A pre-fabricated skid mounted boiler package containing three CP-M 80 boilers was supplied by Halifax based Ormandy Ltd and has been installed on the roof of the theatre. The equipment will provide space heating for the majority of the building.
The use of a packaged boiler plant offers the benefits of off site assembly and testing and can be designed to fit into compact dimensions. The plant room can also be installed with minimum on site disruption, often with gas and water connections as the only requirement to complete the project.
The main contractor for the project was ISG InteriorExterior Plc based in Manchester and the Lochinvar equipment was installed by Hills Mechanical & Electrical’s Newcastle office.
David Pepper, Lochinvar’s Managing Director, said: “The off site assembly allowed final installation to be completed at the theatre quickly and cost effectively, being crane lifted into place at the same time as other major plant items.”
The Carriage Works theatre is part of the redeveloped Electric Press building in Leeds city centre and features two auditoria: one with a capacity of 350 seats and a smaller studio with 80 seats. It also includes a variety of multi-purpose rooms including conference space and offers a dynamic mix of professional and amateur theatre, music and comedy.
