Lochinvar has supplied high efficiency water heating equipment to a number of schools in Southampton.
A total of 14 water heaters from the Knight and Charger gas-fired water heater ranges have been supplied to three community schools. Woodlands Community College in Harefield, Southampton has been supplied with two Charger water heaters; model CE400Auto for the gymnasium and two Charger CE500Auto to provide the kitchen hot water. Two Knight LG30CE Auto units provide the main school building with a hot water supply used for general handwash, cleaner sinks and small kitchens.
Similar equipment was also selected for Redbridge Community School, Cuckmere Lane and Cantell Community School, Bassett, both in Southampton.
The equipment in all three schools was specified by Midlands based Interserve Engineering Services.
Chris Barrett, Sales Manager for Lochinvar said: “The design principle of the Knight and Charger is based on extremely fast recovery of hot water, ideal for schools where demand will be constant throughout the day, but can also be subject to peak requirements.
“Units of the required size can be situated close to the demand point delivering almost instantaneous hot water with far greater efficiency than traditional systems. With insulation reducing standing heating losses to an absolute minimum, the equipment offers many economic advantages.”
