Control valve targets hygienic applications
Published:  01 September, 2005

The Steri-Trol clean service control valve is the latest addition to Spirax Sarco’s family of steam controls. The two-port,pneumatically- actuated valve complies with all the relevant standards to suit a range of hygienic steam applications in demanding industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and semiconductors.

Its self-draining, crevice-free design makes the Steri-Trol able to handle clean steam, pure steam,de-mineralised or reverse osmosis water and SIP/CIP applications. A sanitary clamp connects the body and bonnet, offering quick and easy in-line cleaning and maintenance. A high performance double stem seal virtually eliminates any risk of

contamination from external sources. The double seal also protects the valve from particulate damage to ensure a long service life.

The valve is supplied with the option of a full range of connections, including tube end and sanitary clamp connectors. The face-to-face dimensions can be defined by the customer, making the Steri-Trol very easy to retrofit.

High Kv values offer a low pressure drop across the valve, and Spirax Sarco can supply the Steri-Trol with a choice of equal percentage, linear or fast-opening flow characteristics. There are also soft seal and micro-flow options available.
