Lapp taps into the sun
Published:  02 July, 2005

Lapp Limited is tapping into the renewable energy industry with a fully integrated range of UV resistant cables, connectors and accessories. The new collection includes Lapptherm Solar cables and Silvyn RILL PA slit conduit.

The plug and play products have been specifically designed for photo- voltaic applications, including solar panels, and developed by Lapp in close co-operation with users in this burgeoning sector.

Lapp’s solar range offers a complete cabling solution for installations where solar cells are connected with each other or with a terminal box and inverter.Lapptherm Solar cables have been tested successfully for resistance to weathering, ozone and ageing.

The cables’ temperature resistant insulation and outer sheath materials permit exposure to highly demanding weather conditions,UV- Rays and temperatures up to +120°C,without becoming brittle like conventional rubber cables. The ranges include cables with cross- linked core insulation of elastimer compound or polyolefine.

The highly flexible Lapptherm cables are available in four variants to satisfy different installation demands, from the TUV approved Solar Plus and halogen-free Solar XL,to the spacesaving,semi-rigid Solar SR,with TPE core insulation and robust Solar plus V4A with stainless- steel braiding.
