CEO takes chair on Orgalime Board

Dave Dossett,Chief Executive of the British electroctechnical manufacturing body, BEAMA, has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Orgalime - the European federation of national associations representing the mechanical, electrical, electronic and metal articles industries.

Taking the reins from Paul Van Roon (of Dutch association FME/CWM) he will hold the post for two years.

Commenting on his new role, Dossett, who has been much involved with Orgalime since the early ‘90s,previously holding the vice-chairmanship on its board for over two years, said: “Orgalime is presently restructuring to ensure the necessary resources are in place to reinforce our position as the premier lobbying body for the engineering industry in Brussels.We will focus on ensuring this happens seamlessly,and that the excellent work to date continues gathering pace and impacting on key electrical industry issues.

“Orgalime does an excellent job representing businesses Europe-wide –especially regarding technical and environmental legislation, legal and trade policy issues. BEAMA continues to be totally committed to Orgalime as influence on EU and UK legislation affecting our members’ interests is enhanced via our membership of it.

“As the EC’s preferred route to the European electrotechnical sector for information and advice, Orgalime is the most influential organisation for getting things done concerning major issues in Brussels."
