White Young Green(WYG)has been appointed by The University of York to provide services to a £500 million extension to its Heslington campus.
The construction of the new 70 hectare campus to the north-east of Heslington should be complete by 2008 and will provide for an additional 5,400 students and 2,000 staff.In addition,there will be a further 2,500 jobs associated with spin out activities linked to the University Research departments and additional student accommodation for up to 3,300 students.
It is proposed that the extension will have a similar mix of activities to the current campus,with colleges,academic building, community facilities and significant green areas including woodland and a lake.
WYG are responsible for delivering The Infrastructure Design Guide which comprises of Sustainability Strategies,The Utility Services Design Guide and The Building Services Strategy in addition to The Landscape Design Study and the Risk Register
