Published:  11 January, 2005

Daikin Europe NV has acquired 100% of the share capital of its independent distributor in Portugal,Esteproar S.A.,after a successful business relationship of about 20 years.

Set up in the early ‘80s by Eng.Francisco Severo and Eng.Antonio Anjos,Esteproar can now claim a 20% plus share of the Portuguese market and is the country’s premier air conditioning supplier.

The rapidly expanding Portuguese air conditioning market is the eighth largest in Europe and based in the main on DX equipment. Esteproar has built an enviable reputation for its technical capability, sales integrity and sound commercial footing.Based in Cacem – San Marcos,Lisbon, with a regional sales office in Porto, Esteproar has an established network of approved dealers and a full time staff of 54.

The addition of Esteproar to Daikin Europe’s growing list of affiliates will strengthen its operating structure and support functions and clear the way for further market penetration across a broader customer base.
