Electronic overload relays
Published:  05 March, 2009

GE is expanding its family of control and automation products with the introduction of the new RE range of electronic overload relays.  Designed for industrial and OEM applications such as pumping, metal manufacturing and HVAC installations, the new products offer major advantages compared to conventional thermal overload relays.

Features include motor currents from 0.1 to 150A in only three frame sizes and multiple trip class selection from 5 - 30 seconds as standard in every relay.  Response times in the event of over-current or phase loss are 300% faster than conventional thermal overload relays with bi-metal elements.

Incorporating Manual or Auto reset function, they are self powered, deliver lower heat output than conventional relays and meet Class 5 protection for better performance when applied with high efficiency motors.

The RE range also offers delayed starting functions for heavy duty applications and better shock and vibration resistance.  Other features include reduced footprint and lower cost in class 20 and 30 applications, separate mounting capability and 'In Service' green LED status indication providing operational functionality. Units can also be mounted directly on CL contactors.
