DVD highlights safe procedures
Published:  29 January, 2009

Injuries and fatalities to electricians caused by touching live electrical conductors have been a frequent occurrence since electricity was first utilised. However these incidents can be easily avoided with just a few common sense procedures.

NICEIC's latest DVD, Safe Isolation Procedure, is presented by expert Tony Cable and Learning Lounge presenter Dave Austin and is ideal for all contractors whether Domestic Installers or Approved Contractors, as well as organisations that may employ or sub-contract them.

The film explores the legislation requiring safe working practices, explains the fundamentals of safe isolation procedure and looks at the different means of ‘locking off', both for domestic and industrial situations.

Covering safe systems of work and permits to work encountered in commercial and industrial situations, the DVD also examines a typical incident that can happen to an electrician who doesn't isolate the supply correctly before starting his work.

To order your copy of the DVD, call NICEIC on 0870 013 0458 or log onto www.niceicdirect.com.
