Grundfos invest in Serbia
Published:  30 October, 2008

Grundfos has announced plans to invest almost £80m Euros in establishing a new pump manufacturing factory in Serbia.  The 15 hectares of land has already been purchased in Indjija, 42 kilometres north of Belgrade, close to all main access routes.  Building work is about to commence and the new factory is expected to initially create 300 to 500 jobs.

This move follows a period of intensive growth and increasing demand for Grundfos products in Central and Eastern Europe.

Serbia was seen as a good location due to its stable economic and political base, the country's potential candidature for membership of the EU (expected as early as 2009), as well as its proximity to the growth markets. Grundfos already has sales offices in Belgrade.

The move has been welcomed by the Serbian authorities and the plans have received a lot of media interest as Grundfos are one of the first Western companies to invest so heavily in the country.
