Venture Lighting has supplied its Whitelux Metal Halide lamps for exterior lighting in the recent expansion of the high profile M1 Drogheda Retail & Leisure Park in Dublin. Housed in luminaires from VeeLite Lighting Limited, Waterford, the lamps were specified for their ability to meet the exacting design criteria for the project, offering long life with high colour stability and excellent colour rendering.
Situated 30 miles north of Dublin, just off the busy Dublin to Belfast motorway, the M1 Drogheda Retail & Leisure Park is designed to be an experience rather than just a shopping trip and the architect placed great emphasis on the exterior lighting, which has been designed to provide visual interest after dark. To meet this brief, 180 VeeLite Altair luminaires columns have been installed, incorporating Venture's 150W Whitelux Metal Halide lamps. These luminaires have a semi transparent white lens skirt that, when used in conjunction with the Venture lamps, provides a soft and attractive lighting effect. Additional matching wall mounted luminaires were also supplied to the project, along with columns, finials and brackets.
Mounted at 6m, the luminaires use asymmetric light distribution to ensure zero light pollution, while providing greater flexibility for the designers in the placement of columns.
