Colt appoints CEO

The Colt Group has announced the appointment of Simon Thornton as its new Chief Executive Officer. He is taking over from Gerard van Haren who has led the expansion of the Group's business, achieving record profits and sales in 2007.
Simon Thornton brings to the Colt Group the experience he has gained in his previous positions in the construction equipment industry and, most recently, leading the New Holland agricultural equipment business in Europe.
Simon Thornton said: "The Colt Group's business has been successful for over 75 years and has great prospects and I look forward to the challenge of strengthening our performance around the world and maintaining Colt's growth going forwards."
