New energy monitoring panel
Published:  22 August, 2007

Mitsubishi Electric has launched a range of new controls products which make life much easier for air conditioning and electrical contractors who have previously faced the difficult issue of installing energy meters.

Many customers are now asking about energy monitoring as it is currently one of the hottest topics around following the new Part L regulations, but the installation of energy meters has always been complex because there is a lot of wiring involved between current transformers and the energy meters (a current transformer (CT) is a type of instrument transformer designed to provide a current in its secondary winding proportional to the current flowing in its primary).

Mitsubishi Electric has developed an energy monitoring panel to provide installers with a simple option.

The panel includes one energy meter, three current transformers, an isolator and an interface to Mitsubishi Electric’s MNET to report the energy consumption to the company’s sophisticated TG2000 software package in conjunction with the G50 and the G50-EC-Full PIN code.
