Many end-users are losing up to £300 for every £1000 spent on energy saving equipment for their premises because they are unaware it qualifies for the Government’s Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme, according to Daikin Airconditioning UK Ltd.
With initial purchase price a major concern for many end-users, Daikin is encouraging its installer customers to promote low carbon technologies that are published on the Energy Technology List (ETL) to help gain a competitive advantage.
Martin Hayward, Daikin UK’s Applied Systems Manager, said: “Any business that pays UK corporation tax is entitled to claim an enhanced 100% capital allowance tax on energy saving equipment in the first tax year. Unfortunately, many end-users are unaware that it exists.
“For installers, it is vitally important they communicate these benefits to their end-users customers. By doing this, it will help give them a competitive advantage and build confidence in the sector by helping end-users make a more informed choice.”
