PIR Thermostat control
Published:  24 April, 2007

Danlers Limited has launched a new version of their passive infra-red thermostat control. This new product is designed to control cooling loads such as stand alone air cooling units.

The product combines an adjustable room thermostat with a passive infra-red person detector. If somebody is present in the room, the cooling unit is switched on to achieve the selected thermostat temperature. When nobody is present the temperature is allowed to rise to an upper ceiling temperature.

This gives comfortable temperature control while reducing energy consumption by restricting the time when the cooling unit is working. The user is not paying to cool an empty room.
