The first Energy Efficiency Centre in the South East opened with aplomb when the Queen’s representative, Lord Lieutenant Allan Willet, cut the ribbon on the state-of-the-art premises at the Plumbing Academy. Based in Edenbridge, Kent, and approved by City & Guilds and BPEC, the specially built 10,000 sq ft centre is the latest offering at the award-winning Academy.

“As the reduction of CO2 emissions tops the nation’s priority list, the role played by plumbing and heating engineers in achieving this target continues to grow in importance. From specification to installation, it is essential for the UK to have a highly skilled workforce, equipped with the latest thinking, knowledge and skills. At the Plumbing Academy’s Energy Efficiency Centre we are keen to support the trade to achieve this,” said Steven Edwards, Chief Executive of The Plumbing Academy.

The Energy Efficiency centre has been specifically designed and built to incorporate a vast range of the very latest energy efficient boilers to solar panels, and boasts some of the country’s most respected tutors and lecturers.
