Hospitals prescribe Rite-Vent
Published:  23 February, 2007

Aesthetics were an important element to the chimney design for the £400m redevelopment of existing buildings at Portsmouth’s Queen Alexandra Hospital. Schiedel Rite-Vent therefore designed and manufactured a 24 metre high, free-standing flue which will add a dramatic touch to the completed building.

Their ICS and ICS 5000 flue system will service the new energy centre; exhausting gases from two gas boilers and three diesel generators. Schiedel Rite-Vent produced the design calculations for the external free-standing chimney which is three metres in diameter and encompasses eight individual flues.

ICS and ICS Plus are identical, with the only difference being the addition of a gasket, which makes the product suitable for high pressure applications. Its push-fit system is easy to install saving valuable time on site.
