Balfour Kilpatrick, the multi services and power systems business of Balfour Beatty plc has been awarded seven major new contracts to a total value of approximately £120m.
Works are continuing apace at Heathrow Terminal 5, where Balfour Kilpatrick is responsible for the delivery of key elements of the T5 infrastructure. Works valued at approximately £40m have recently been awarded by Heathrow Airport Limited for the Rail and Tunnels Piccadilly extension and the Track Transit Systems.
In a joint venture with Balfour Beatty Construction, Balfour Kilpatrick will design and construct six new secondary schools, two new post 16 centres and one new special education needs (SEC) school for Nottingham County Council. The £38m award for HVAC and electrical services will start in November, with completion scheduled for October 2007.
The award of the £6.5m mechanical and electrical services to Golden Square Shopping Centre is further repeat business with Bovis Lend Lease Limited in the retail sector. Balfour Kilpatrick will supply and install services in this 19 month contract. In the health sector, Balfour Kilpatrick and Lounsdale Electric are together working on the £30m Manchester Joint Hospitals project for Bovis Lend Lease, due for completion in July 2009.
Amec Group has awarded the HVAC and electrical services contract for the Independent Sector Treatment Centre (ISTC) in Burton to Balfour Kilpatrick. This is a £2.5m contract programmed over 36 weeks.
In east London, Balfour Kilpatrick will provide mechanical and electrical services valued at £1.4m to the Bonner and Ben Johnson schools, working with Balfour Beatty Construction for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Completion of this contract is scheduled for July 2006.
