New air filter is unique
Published:  02 June, 2005

A new air filter that is said to be unique due to a ‘memory’ and selfsupporting media has been launched by the UK’s leading air filter company.

Northumberland based manufacturer AAF-Air Filters has designed and developed PerfectPleat, a new range of pleated panel filters with built-in ‘memory’ and selfsupporting media which is said to be unique in the world at the present time.

The built-in memory feature of the extended surface filter media, gives the product a unique self supporting characteristic that requires no metal to support the media as used in conventional panel filters. It also enables the product to retain its original pleated shape throughout its life, even if damaged in the handling and storage operations. The knock-on effect of a metal-free product is a fully incinerable filter, no re-entrainment of oxidised particles and the elimination of cuts to the hands during handling.

Made from a controlled and repeatable blend of specific sized virgin fibres, this unique media also has improved moisture resistant characteristics and better airflow than conventional panel filters. The latter benefit is due in part to the consistent, uniform spacing of the perfect pleats.
