Get slim with AET
Published:  02 June, 2005

Concept, featuring Hiross underfloor air-conditioning, raised access flooring and demountable partitioning systems.

Advanced Ergonomic Technologies (AET) has launched a new, Slimline Fan Tile Unit (FTU) as an integral component of its Flexible Space With its shallow depth, the new FTU allows consultants and contractors to provide high quality underfloor comfort cooling on refurbishment projects where a ceiling-based airconditioning system is impractical because of restricted floor to ceiling heights, thus saving development costs and improving lettability potential.

AET’s new Slimline FTU is ideal for use in commercial office refurbishments where no air-conditioning system has previously existed. Retrofitting a typical fan coil, VAV or split system airconditioning into a ceiling on such a project requires the creation of a false ceiling, often in the region of 450mm depth. Typically, this is not a practical option, so consigning the building to a second class existence or demolition. AET’s Flexible Space System turns this thinking upside down, using either an existing raised floor or by installing a new one of perhaps 150mm depth.
