Dalkia help for Bristol children's Hospital
Published:  05 May, 2005

Young patients at the Bristol Children's Hospital were naturally very upset when their giant plasma screen television was stolen shortly before Christmas, leaving hospital staff to find a temporary replacement. With boredom ranking as one of the biggest problems for children receiving hospital care, the loss of the screen meant that patients coming for an outpatients appointment were deprived of their main means of entertainment.

Leading facilities management and energy specialists Dalkia and their client Bank of Ireland, together with Sounds Commercial and Rentokil Initial, have jointly donated a new 42 inch Plasma Screen/DVD installation through the Wallace and Gromit Appeal. Importantly, the group is also ensuring that the new screen is protected by additional security measures.

Accepting the screen on behalf of the Grand Appeal,Marie Clements thanked the contributors for their support:

“We were dismayed when we found the screen had been stolen so this donation is particularly welcome. It will make a real difference for the children in our care.”
