Fujitsu has launched its compact VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) system: the Airstage J-Series. There are two models in the range: the AO54FJ cooling only type and AO54UJ heat pump version.
Although compact in size, the units have been designed with power and efficiency in mind, employing a high-performance DC inverter scroll compressor with variable capacity to match changing heating and cooling loads. As a result, the system achieves an excellent 3.2 COP (coefficient of performance) in the cooling mode and 3.4 COP when operating in the heating mode.
Nominal cooling capacity is 15.2Kw together with 16.6Kw of heating on the heat pump version. The compressor operates over an ambient temperature range of -5°C to 45°C cooling and -15°C to 21°C heating.
The outdoor compressor measures a neat 900mm high by 900 wide by 370mm deep and weighs only 97kg, making it 20 percent smaller and lighter than conventional condensers. Nonetheless, this compact unit has the power to run up to eight indoor units selecting from ceiling, wall or floor models.
