Dolphin meets DDA
Published:  06 April, 2005

The new Vimec mobile Stair Climber from Dolphin Stairlifts is a cost effective, safe and versatile way of meeting DDA regulations by providing access up and down stairs for wheelchair users.

Totally portable, the Stair Climber does not need to remain outside the building, and therefore the frontage can remain untouched. The Vimec Stair Climber is also an ideal solution for stairs where a platform lift would be inappropriate due to architectural constraints or where vandalism or abuse would be a problem.

Ideal for a wide range of applications including ferries and coaches, the Stair Climber can be used by any member of staff after training. As it will climb all stairs up to 35 degrees, the Stair Climber also makes an ideal option for outside stairs and shop doorways.

Comprising of an electronically controlled chain track, and selfbraking, non-reversing geared brushless motor, the Stair Climber is reliable, strongly built and totally safe. Most importantly, the electronically controlled battery-geared motor unit ensures that there is always a charge reserve, so there is no risk of the unit running out of power halfway up the stairs.
