The stunning multi-storey towers of the new five-star 300-room Corinthia Bab Africa Hotel, overlooking the historic Medina in the heart of Tripoli, are protected at every level by a system of Hochiki's addressable smoke and heat detectors to protect both public spaces and plant and staff areas.
Hochiki's ESP-compliant addressable smoke detectors, specified for their low-profile good looks, are located both below false ceilings as well as above them, where the plenum ceiling-cavity space is significant. Hochiki heat detectors are also used in areas identified as sensitive locations.
This multi-level intelligent system of designated zones, each served by independent fire alarm panels, interfaces via ESP (Enhanced System Protocol), Hochiki's benchmark interference-immune fire data communications platform designed to eliminate false alarms due to data corruption.
In addition, in the banquet hall, reception, and main restaurant, where the false ceiling is high, beam detectors are used. These comprise Hochiki's infrared beam detectors, deploying emitters and receivers within a range of 5m to 100m.
The fire alarm sounders are connected on the same loops as the detectors. These are Hochiki's base sounders (sounders conveniently and cost-efficiently mounted on the same bases as the detectors) and Hochiki Conventional wall/ceiling mounted sounders.
The system also comprises a number of addressable manual break-glass stations installed throughout the building; these are wired up on the same loops as the detectors and sounders.
