Mike McCloskey has been elected Vice President of the HVCA at a special general meeting of the Association.
A director of South London-based Argent FM Ltd,Mr McCloskey spent 30 years with national contractor Lorne Stewart Plc.In the mid 1980s, he established that company's maintenance division which,at the time of his retirement last year,enjoyed an annual turnover of £60m.
Mike McCloskey has been a member of the Council of the HVCA since 1992 and of the Executive Committee of its Service and Facilities (formerly Service and Maintenance)Group since 1985.He became chairman of Welplan Ltd - the Association's principal subsidiary - in 1998,and a member of the HVCA Finance Committee in 2001.
Mr McCloskey's election completes the line-up of officers for 2004/05, which also comprises President Mike Taylor (Lorne Stewart Plc),President elect Geoffrey Robinson(Geoffrey Robinson Ltd)and immediate past President Brian Townsend (End Systems Ltd).
