A newly launched BRE Academy is set to deliver world-class training and education programmes to provide all those involved in the built environment with the skills and learning they need for working and delivering globally

Developed by BRE in collaboration with industry experts worldwide and in partnership with the sector’s best knowledge providers, the Academy provides a complete spectrum of programmes to support the entire supply chain – from clients, architects, designers and engineers to facilities managers, product manufacturers, site operatives and contractors.

Created to drive positive change in the sector, the Academy opens the way for the industry to acquire the new skills, practices and knowledge application that are vital for achieving homes, buildings, communities and cities that are fit for the future and rooted in the best long term social, economic and environmental outcomes.

Director of the BRE Academy Pauline Traetto said: “The global built environment faces a number of critical challenges, not least a population that will increase from 6 billion to 9 billion by 2050. Against a burgeoning demand for sustainable construction, there is a marked shortage of the relevant skills, which is having a detrimental impact on organisational performance and ultimately the future of the construction industry. The new Academy closes the gap between high demand and skills shortage by providing the highest quality of training and education right across the board and pushing the boundaries of knowledge in the built environment.”

The BRE Academy offers courses in an extensive range of subject areas alongside qualifications, accreditations and CPD programmes at levels ranging from City & Guilds and BTEC to post graduate diplomas and Masters Degrees. Conveniently delivered online through a dedicated online portal, training is tailored to individual, company and market needs, and is available in local languages.
