Mott MacDonald Pettit, part of the global management, engineering and development consultancy Mott MacDonald, has been appointed by Quinn Group as engineering consultant on a £40 million wind farm project.
The new project will be located at Slieve Rushen in Derrylin, Co. Fermanagh, Northern Ireland and is due for completion in late 2007. The 54 MW project comprises 18 wind turbines and includes the upgrade of 33kV power supplies to Quinn’s glass plant nearby in Derrylin.

Mott MacDonald Pettit’s team will carry out the detailed design for the balance of plant, providing civil design services for the turbine foundations, access roads and two 33kV substation buildings. The firm will also carry out the detailed electrical design for the two 33kV substations, the 33kV cable collector system as well as a 33/11kV substation at the glass plant.
