For those installers required to move from the 16th to the 17th Edition wiring regulations, Logic Certification has launched a Part P update course, available for holders of the Logic Certification Part P defined or full scope certificate. The course is designed to help operatives meet the requirements of the competent person scheme, which stipulates that by the end of 2010 all operatives must hold the 17th Edition version of the qualification.

The course will be available from January and takes just one day, detailing all amendments to the regulations affecting installers working within the domestic arena. There are a number of changes in the 17th Edition wiring regulations; the main areas include the definitions, protection, special locations and alterations to testing and circuit length tables. The training package also acts as a revision tool, covering areas of Part P that, from Logic Certification’s experience, candidates may forget – especially if they are not carrying out testing and certification on a regular basis.

Available to those installers who obtained a valid Logic Certification defined or full scope Part P certificate between May 2005 and June 2008, the course can be carried out at Logic Certification centres throughout the UK.
