Fläkt Woods ended 2007 with total sales of over 5,500 Jet Thrust fans in Portugal, representing 65% of the served market.
When Fläkt Woods decided to compete for the Portuguese car park ventilation market, just five years ago, no one could have predicted that today, its reputation would have become so dominant that it now accounts for such a significant percentage of that sector.
One recent order comprised 550 units for the Dolce Vita Shopping Centre. This new regional shopping centre is the first within the metropolitan area of Coimbra and forms part of the Eurostadium complex. The fans are being used to ventilate the car parking areas of the complex. A further contract includes fans for the famous Parque das Nações, an area for public use, with a wide range of urban facilities for culture, leisure and commercial use, originally developed from the Expo ’98 ground in Lisbon.
The most recent contract is for 360 octagonal Jet Thrust fans ventilating a 4000 space car park serving the Office Park Expo, a 200,000m² office and retail development in Lisbon currently being constructed by Norfin.
The success in no small part can be attributed to a dedicated team of individuals and sales development managers such as Henry Dujol, who has become a passionate advocate of the JM car park jet fan and the benefits it brings to car park ventilation. Henry has been particularly successful in developing the concept in European markets, helping to communicate the benefits of jet fans over traditional methods.
