A South London health and fitness centre has seen an influx of custom and is considering expansion since installing a HygroMatik steam humidifier to create perfect conditions for the latest fitness trend of Hot Yoga.

The classes take place in a heated and humidified room to increase health and weight loss benefits. Hot yoga can be practised between 40% and 90% Rh depending on the intensity of humidity desired.

p13hydroDynamic Health & Fitness, based in Purley, Surrey, wanted to extend their customer offering in their studio and approached HygroMatik service partner, Euro Controls UK Ltd about the best solution to raise humidity to an ideal level for this type of class. After conducting tests on site, Euro Controls UK Ltd recommended using a HygroMatik C17-C Electrode Steam Humidifier with VG steam distributor to supply the room with humidity and to create the desired atmosphere of 40?C and 55% Rh. It was clear from the tests that by using a humidifier, rather than heaters, meant that the air would not dry out thus allowing people to sweat out toxins during the class.

Reliability and ease of use to the teachers and staff was of the upmost importance as they needed to operate the system before and after each class with a quick turnaround time. The HygroMatik C17-C Electrode Steam Humidifier adheres to these specifications with its simple control panel and durable design. The humidifier is kept in the store room, out of sight of the studio, and the VG steam distributor is placed inside the studio, supplying the steam to the room via a fan head.

Tim Watts, Sales Manager for Euro Controls UK Ltd commented: “The customer is so pleased with the outcome and, with classes near full each time, is considering opening another room with the same products.”
