FS Cables has published issue 11 of its popular cabling guide ‘The Little Red Book’. Increased in length to 182 pages, it contains technical and application data for over 8,000 cables.

Cables include data, bus, coaxial, signal & control, power, fire & security, telephone, rubber & crane and high temperature as well as glands, connectors and a guide to custom-manufactured cables.

While the book’s length has increased the size remains a handy A5 – an ideal companion either on site or in the office.

Issue 11 features a new section dedicated entirely to the large range of low smoke halogen free cables (LSHF) held in stock. The FSC LSHF range is comprehensive and is a top quality alternative to traditional PVC or LSF when installing in public buildings or near sensitive electronic equipment.

The home automation and building control section has been expanded to include pages on HD composite cables, bundled multiple Cat 5E and Cat 6 and an increased TruSound™ range of professional grade speaker, microphone and line level audio cables.

Other new products include:

• BS5308 unarmoured instrumentation cables

• Power cables – NYY unarmoured PVC, BS5467 armoured PVC and BS6724 armoured LSHF

• Marine grade DNV approved cables

• Fire performance cables FP100®, FP200 Gold®, FP Plus® and FP400®

• Structured wiring – Cat 5E & Cat 6 in a range of colours

Other popular products include one of the largest ranges of alternative to Belden cables in the UK, KNX® certified building control cable, Antennax™ the ultra-low loss high performance coaxial cable, flexible control cables YY, SY and CY and many more.

A large range of plastic and brass glands and connectors are also listed to provide a complete wiring solution.

Selected tables from 17th Edition Wiring Regulations are included for reference, as are stranding and AWG / Metric conversion charts. A full set of American, British and European colour codes are also included.
