Wye Leisure, Herefordshire’s premier health & leisure club, has just completed a complete refurbishment of its filtration plant and chemical dosage system which is in line to save the club thousands of pounds in filter maintenance costs and downtime.
The system, which covers two lap pools and two large spa pools, was specified and installed by pool water treatment specialists Gaffey Techncial Services Ltd. Wye Leisure chose five state-of-the-art WAPOTEC Type S multi-layer filters with PVC-u linings as well as viewing windows and lighting for easy inspection. For excellent filtration and backwashing performance the filters were equipped with AFM glass filter media, a long-lasting green alternative to conventional filter media.

Wye Leisure Club also chose seven Grundfos – Alldos CONEX DIA 2 controllers for accurate and reliable disinfection control, coupled to several Pellet-Pro calcium hypochlorite tablet feeders and 16 Grundfos – Alldos DDI digital dosing pumps. Fresh water dilution systems have been fitted to each pool plant to allow constant dilution and help maintain bather comfort.

The system satisfies the brief to Gaffey, which was to provide a robust, high quality system with a long service life producing the finest possible water quality, whilst reducing filter plant and dosing system maintenance costs and downtime – important for an exclusive membership club where all facilities need to be available to clients all day, every day. All seven pools at Wye Leisure now have systems specified, installed and serviced by Gaffey Technical Services Ltd
