The Energy Institute (EI)’s Level 1 Certificate in Energy Management Essentials is now available online. This popular qualification has been taught in classroom-style around the UK to hundreds of delegates since its inception in 2010. The new e-learning course allows delegates to complete the full course, or choose individual modules they wish to study, and finish in their time, at their own pace, providing more flexibility for today’s busy energy manager.

Will Sadler, Training Manager for the Energy Institute, says: “With more customers going online for their training needs, it was only a matter of time before the EI added an e-learning course to its portfolio. As learners progress through the course, they build up action points from each module which, in effect, helps them to create a comprehensive action plan for them to take away and implement in the workplace.”

The course is written by qualified energy management specialists and provides online support from the tutors and practical exercises to complete along with real-life case studies. The 10 course modules include metering, regulations and standards, auditing, report writing, renewables and mounting an effective staff awareness campaign.

This certificate is ideal for those relatively new to energy management and who want a thorough and practical introduction to the subject. The course provides 80 CPD hours and the skills taught as part of this training programme contribute towards the criteria required for achieving Chartered Energy Manager status.
