The Kopex Ex range of accessories is, uniquely, certified as a piece of equipment, removing the need for retesting of existing equipment when there are any changes or replacement takes place. The new range of converters, adapters, reducers and stopping plugs can be interchanged without altering the Ex approval of the installation or system.
Kopex uses markings on the outer wall of the fitting to display clearly the equipment data which includes the ATEX and IECEx certification details as well as company information. By contrast, many manufacturers use a single line data marking which is hidden when the fitting is in place, so that the system is rendered uncertified under the new 60079 standard.
