Air Conditioning Solutions (UK) Ltd has replaced an old cooling-only system with five Mitsubishi Electric PURY-P City Multi heat recovery units for Lenta Business Centres.

Gloucester Place Business Centre in London’s West End, is an elegant, bright, five storey period building, which perfectly combines new with old. Each office still has the original Edwardian fireplaces for example, but it is just minutes from Marleybone and Baker Street stations and offers state-of-the-art IT facilities.

Air Conditioning Solutions (ACS) is a specialist in this type of installation, finding solutions where, at first glance, none seem to exist. They chose Mitsubishi Electric’s City Multi because of the unique two-pipe heat recovery system which can provide simultaneous heating and cooling using only two pipes instead of the industry norm of three. This, along with the small footprint of the City Multi equipment, helped reduce the installation time and space needed for the job.

“The operating efficiencies of the City Multi kit are also high meaning that the building’s Part L constraints were easily achieved,” explained David Knibbs of ACS.

Five outdoor compressors serve 33 indoor units, with low-level ducted units being used for the majority of the building. This meant that architectural casings could be used to blend the system in perfectly.

The whole system is controlled by Mitsubishi Electric’s G50 web-based controller system with a router for external operation over a phone line. This gives LAN and WAN control of the system including SMS text message and email fault reporting to ACS who can then respond to any issue that may arise speedily and with minimum disruption to the customer.

Lenta Business Space was first formed by The London Enterprise Agency in 1981 and aims to make it easy for businesses to take on instant offices in attractive and secure locations and is now one of the largest serviced office providers in the UK.
