Building controls specialist, BG Controls, has manufactured, installed and commissioned a new motor control panel at the Vue multiplex cinema in Swansea, just five working days after a fire broke out in the building.
The controls specialist installed and monitors the building controls in 42 of Vue’s state-of-the-art multiplex cinemas.
BG engineers declared the HVAC control panel at the multiplex cinema in Swansea irreparable from the fire at the beginning of August this year.
Although this was the first fire related incident that BG Controls had encountered, the company immediately initiated a series of procedures to ensure that the cinema HVAC could function as normal, and as soon as possible.
As the panel had been completely destroyed, BG engineers switched the system to manual mode until a replacement could be installed.
BG’s dedicated workshop team then worked round the clock to manufacture a bespoke motor control panel in just 24 hours. Meanwhile the company’s electrical division completely rewired the site in preparation for the arrival of the new panel. With the new panel delivered and installed, the site was re-commissioned and the cinema HVAC system returned to automatic.
From design, manufacture, installation and commission to project handover, the whole process was complete in less than five working days.
“Customer comfort in a relaxed and enjoyable environment is of high priority when delivering the best possible cinema experience for our visitors,” says Vue Director, Geoff Moore. “BG Controls’ professional response meant that the building controls quickly returned to normal and ensured that customer satisfaction was consistently high throughout.”
